For a slice of cake, a fig and some ricotta, a piece of bread beside the coffee. The Cake Plate is the smallest form in the Sujo collection and carries the same irregular outline as the larger pieces: the rim rises and falls in a loose, uneven wave, and the edge never quite resolves into a circle.

The surface is flat enough to plate cleanly, but the silhouette makes it interesting at a place setting. Glazed in the Sujo color range with variation in pooling and edge finish from piece to piece. Stoneware. Dishwasher and microwave safe.

Care Instructions

Although fired at 2192 °F (1200 °C) for durability, our ceramics still require proper care. Handle with care, avoid exposure to open flame or stovetops, and remember they are microwave and dishwasher-safe.

For oven use, always start from room temperature, preheat gradually, and never exceed 335 °F (170 °C). Allow pieces to cool slowly, as larger items are more sensitive to sudden temperature changes.

We recommend 18/10 stainless steel cutlery. Avoid silver, gold, or copper-plated utensils, as they may leave surface marks. These marks are simply metal residue, not ceramic damage, and are not covered by returns or warranty.

They can be removed using Bar Keepers Friend or fine 1000-grit wet sandpaper.

Our tableware is handmade, which means natural variations in color, texture, and finish are expected. These differences (whether between individual pieces or within a single item) are not defects but part of each piece’s unique character and value.
